Traction Report NO.6 - Partnering with fsw’s entrepreneurship program

Cap Table Nation is partnering with FSW’s Daveler Institute of Entrepreneurship and the AS in Entrepreneurship Program

CTN is partnering with the Daveler Institute of Entrepreneurship to develop the SWFL region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem!

The Daveler Foundation's $1.9 million grant has catalyzed the establishment of the Daveler Institute of Entrepreneurship at Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW), marking a significant advancement in entrepreneurial education within the region. This initiative has successfully launched and secured accreditation for an Associate of Science (AS) in Entrepreneurship and two College Credit Certificate (CCC) programs, all built upon a unique, student-centric framework.

This framework distinguishes itself by seamlessly integrating scientific, historical, and experiential perspectives on entrepreneurship. The AS in Entrepreneurship, a highly immersive two-year program, features nine dedicated entrepreneurship courses taught by practicing entrepreneur professors. This ensures an authentic learning experience, mirroring the real-world process of business development, which itself becomes a living case study.

Complementing the AS program is the development of an Innovation Center, comprising three interconnected hubs: Digital Communication, Digital Design, and Digital Fabrication. Each hub houses four specialized labs, fostering a hands-on learning environment. This integration of classroom theory with practical lab application ensures students translate knowledge into tangible skills.

Furthermore, the program emphasizes real-world exposure through regular guest speaker sessions and field visits, allowing students to observe entrepreneurial principles in action. This holistic approach, combining expert instruction, practical lab work, and field experience, equips FSW students with the comprehensive skill set and entrepreneurial mindset necessary for success in today's dynamic business landscape. The Daveler Institute of Entrepreneurship is poised to become a regional leader in entrepreneurial education, fostering innovation and economic growth.
